Abstract
Objective To report the application of laryngeal mask in lung lavage of pneumoconiosis patient with difficult airway. Methods After unsuccessful intubation, a 55 years old pneumoconiosis patient was performed lung lavage under general anesthesia with tee valves laryngeal mask airway, which could avoid the limitation of difficult airway and nasal polyps. Results With the use of muscle relaxant during general anesthesia, the intubation process was fluent, the volume entering the right lung was 2 000 mL,and the wash-out volume was 1 560 mL, both were close to that in large volume whole lung lavage, and the patient had no memory for pain. Conclusion The application of tee valves laryngeal mask airway in lung lavage of pneumoconiosis patient with difficult air way obtained satisfactory clinical outcome. It was safe and reliable, so it deserved to be promoted to treat pneumoconiosis patient with difficult airway.
