Personalized psychological intervention improved psychological state and living quality of long-term hospitalized patients with pneumoconiosis

  • Objective To explore the effects of personalized psychological intervention on the psychological state and living quality of long-term hospitalized patients with pneumoconiosis. Methods A total of 92 patients with pneumoconiosis hospitalized during May 2012 to May 2015 were studied and they were divided into two groups according to the order of hospitalization. One group of patients received extra personalized psychological intervention except for routine nursing, while another group of patients received only routine nursing. On admission and 3 months later, the psychological state and living quality were evaluated with SAS and SDS Scales. Results All patients showed improvement of SAS values, SDS values and living quality scores after treatment for 3 months(P<0.05).However,the patients in the intervention group showed significantly lower SAS and SDS values, and higher living quality scores, compared with those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Personalized psychological intervention helps to relieve the anxiety and depression of long-term hospitalized patients with pneumoconiosis and improve their living quality.
