Abstract
Objective To understand the personal radiation doses of medical radiation staff in a hospital in Zhengzhou. Method The personal radiation doses of staff in the departments of radiological intervention, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy and radiation image were measured using the thermoluminescence dosimetry four times a year during 2008-2012. Results The results showed that the annual average personal effective radiation doses of these staff were lower than the national OELs and there was a yearly decreased trend during 2008-2012(r=10.38, P < 0.05),and the median of annual average personal doses was 0.46,0.35,0.32,0.28,0.26 mSv/a,respectively. The staff in the department of radiological intervention had highest dose values compared with other three groups of staff (t=0.876,0.532,0.728; P < 0.05). Conclusion Though the personal radiation doses of medical radiation staff in this hospital were lower than the national OELs,more attention should still be given to the staff engaged in the radiological intervention, who had a highest exposure within the hospital.
